The 12-hour schedule keeps patrol units continuously active straight through the afternoon rush without transition lulls.
Pre-Spike Evening Transition: The former 9:30 PM shift change occurred just as weekend late-night calls began to rise. Moving the changeover to 5:30 PM/6:00 PM ensures night units are fully settled on patrol well before peak evening call volume hits.
Sustained Early-Morning Patrols: Night units maintained active traffic enforcement and property checks late into the morning hours, with Officers Haluda, Ratcliff, and Crulo logging continuous stops past 3:30 AM.
