Princeton Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Bank Teller and Showing Ammunition Magazine at Walmart Bank

A Princeton man with an out-of-state warrant for terroristic threats was booked into the Lawrence County Jail after he reportedly showed a loaded magazine to a bank teller inside the Bedford Walmart and threatened to shoot her.

Andrew Humphrey, 43, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, August 5, 2026, by the Bedford Police Department.

The Bank Threat and "Leviathan Virus" Warning

The investigation began at approximately 4:07 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, when officers responded to reports of threats made at the Woodforest National Bank branch located inside the Bedford Walmart.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Humphrey approached the bank counter to initiate a Western Union transfer to Uganda. When staff informed him they could not complete the transaction, Humphrey set his purse on the counter and told the teller he was carrying a "police-issued Walther P."

Humphrey then reportedly told the employee, "With this, I could put four in your head and you'd be dead." Before walking out, he displayed a black magazine object to the employee and threatened to unleash a "Leviathan virus" onto the bank's servers to compromise all of their financial accounts, bragging that he had active arrest warrants in multiple states. The victimized teller was shaken to the point that she quit her job following the encounter.

Humphrey fled the scene in a red pickup truck before officers arrived.

The Return to Walmart and "Is This About the Gun?"

The following day, August 5, at approximately 3:46 p.m., Woodforest Bank employees alerted dispatchers that Humphrey had returned to the Walmart store. Responding officers spotted Humphrey driving his red pickup truck away from the property and observed him park outside Maurice's on John Williams Boulevard.

As Officer James Ball approached him, Humphrey voluntarily blurted out, "Is this about the gun?"

Humphrey was immediately placed in handcuffs and read his Miranda rights. During questioning, Humphrey admitted he "said some things he shouldn't have" and acknowledged pulling out his gun's magazine to show the teller, though he denied explicitly threatening to shoot her.

CO2 Pistol Seized; Active Texas Warrant Discovered

When officers asked if he was armed, Humphrey admitted he had a CO2-powered pistol inside his purse. Sergeant Nick Crulo retrieved a black Walther PPQ .43-caliber CO2 pistol along with a container of .43-caliber rubber-steel ammunition from the bag.

While speaking with arresting officers, Humphrey claimed he had approximately 30 prior felony convictions. A subsequent record check confirmed that Humphrey is actively wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Galveston County, Texas, for terroristic threats.

Following a consensual search of his truck, Humphrey was transported to the Lawrence County Jail for booking and housing.
