Teenager Cited Following Physical Altercation with Staff at Bedford Taco Bell

A 16-year-old female was issued a court summons following a physical altercation with restaurant workers outside the Bedford Taco Bell on Monday evening.

Officers with the Bedford Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a fight involving juveniles at the fast-food location around 6:14 p.m. on August 3, 2026. An IU Health Ambulance was already on scene when police arrived.

Restroom Dispute Escalates to Physical Assault

According to police reports, restaurant employees requested a group of individuals leave the premises. During the encounter, the 16-year-old female became physically aggressive:

  • First Employee Assaulted: One staff member reported that the juvenile kicked and struck her during the dispute.
  • Intervening Worker Attacked: A second employee who stepped in to stop the aggression reported being slapped twice and pulled by her shirt.
  • Witness Identification: Multiple dining customers inside the restaurant identified the 16-year-old as the primary aggressor in statements provided to officers.

At the request of store management, official trespass notices were served to those involved, legally barring them from returning to the property.

Processed and Released

The teen was transported to the Bedford Police Department for formal processing. Following a consultation with juvenile probation authorities, she was issued a Juvenile Promise to Appear for a court date scheduled for August 12, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.

She was subsequently released into the custody of her father.
